Melvin S. Arrington, Jr. has served on the University of Mississippi faculty since 1982. He holds the B.A. (with Distinction) from Mississippi College and the M.A.L.S., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Kentucky.
Arrington teaches Hispanic literature as well as the freshman seminar in the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College. He is a Faculty Fellow in the Residential College. Most of his scholarly work has focused on twentieth-century Latin American writers, but he has recently developed a research interest in medieval and Golden Age Spanish literature.
