Teaching and Research Interests
Medieval European History

Frances Courtney Kneupper will receive her Ph.D. in Medieval European History from Northwestern University. Her research interests include religious and cultural history of the Late Middle Ages, with a special focus on heresy, prophecy, and religious dissent. Her current project is titled Crafting Religious and National Identity: The Use of Prophecy in Late Medieval Germany. In 2008, she received a Fulbright Grant for her research in German manuscript libraries. Her minor field is Medieval Islam.
